Butadiene

Butadiene is a C4 petrochemical used as raw material for synthetic rubbers such as styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) primarily used for the production of automobile tires, for acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) used for appliances and automotive applications, and for styrene butadiene latex used for gloves, paper coatings and textiles.

Raffinate-1

Raffinate-1 is composed of various C4 hydrocarbons such as isobutylenes and butanes. Isobutylene is mainly used for producing rubbers, as well as feedstock for the production of methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) for gasoline blending. When further processed, butene-1 can also be produced from raffinate, and used as comonomer for polymer production.

Ethylene

Ethylene is produced by steam cracking. Its primary use is as raw material for the manufacture of polyethylene. It is also used as raw material for ethylbenzene (precursor to styrene), ethylene dichloride (precursor to polyvinyl chloride or PVC), and ethylene glycol (precursor to polyethylene terephthalate or PET), among many other applications

Propylene

Propylene is the second most important product in the petrochemical industry after ethylene. Its primary use is as raw material for the manufacture of polypropylene. It is also used for the production of important chemicals such as propylene glycol, propylene oxide, cumene, butyraldehyde, acrylic acid, isopropyl alcohol, acrylonitriles and epoxy resins.

Mixed C4

Mixed C4 is a by-product of the steam cracking process. It is primarily used as feedstock in butadiene extraction units to recover 1,3-butadiene and other 4-carbon chemicals. One main application of the products is in the manufacture of industrial rubber which is used for tires.
