In support to the DENR-EMB CALABARZON campaign to improve air quality in Batangas City, a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed last December 14, 2022 between JG Summit Olefins Corporation (JGSOC) and DENR-EMB CALABARZON for the “Adopt an Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Station” project. This partnership aims to rehabilitate and operate the Continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Station (CAAQMS) which will monitor the air quality status within Batangas City and determine future air pollution reduction measures. The station is located inside the grounds of the Batangas Provincial Veterinary Office, Brgy. Bolbok, Batangas City.
The MOA signing was held at the DENR-EMB CALABARZON Office at Roxas Boulevard, Ermita, Manila City. JGSOC Director for Government Affairs and Special Projects Ralph Joseph Roy represented JGSOC and signed on behalf of JGSOC President and CEO Patrick Henry C. Go. DENR Regional Director Noemi Paranada and Chief of Environmental Monitoring and Enforcement Jessie Conde represented the government.
Under the MOA, JGSOC will be tasked in providing rehabilitation of the CAAQMS and the installation of an environmental analyzer. The DENR-EMB CALABARZON will operate the equipment and monitor real-time Air Quality Monitoring Data derived from the CAAQMS.
Regional Director Noemi Paranada extends her appreciation on the support provided by JGSOC on DENR-EMB CALABARZON’s initiatives and programs. With this initiative, shared goals in environmental protection, preservation, and sustainability in Batangas City of JGSOC and DENR-EMB CALABARZON are strengthened.
